By this time tomorrow, we'll be well on our way over the slippery slope to socialism.
If you think that's absurd, it's likely because you realize that the content of the President's speech are distinguishable from politics, and that people should be able to get behind some messages (like "stay in school") regardless of party affiliation.
The same principles apply to the teaching of John Yoo, the now-infamous author of the so-called torture memos, and a current professor of law at the University of California, Berkeley. If you feel the rabid response to the President's speech is unwarranted, and yet you feel Yoo shouldn't teach at Berkeley Law, consider whether you can reconcile your views.
If you read the contents of the speech, I am quite certain that a reasonable person would not find that there is "brainwashing" involved. Stay in school is a pretty good message at anytime and by anyone.

I would agree if you were writing about a professor's political views. However, much of the controversy about the Bush DOJ memos was the incompetent legal research and reasoning they used. I would not want to learn from a professor of any political stripe if he would fail a 1L legal research and writing class.
