ATL has an item up this morning on a job posting that made its way over to Georgetown (and several other "top" law schools). Orrick is offering "Career Attorney" positions to recent law grads at their global operations center in Wheeling, West Virginia. You can read more about the opportunity (along with the requisite snark) at ATL, but we've got a little something extra for you. An inside look at the Orrick office in Wheeling. Below is a video shot by a Cal Law reporter for a story on said office back last year. A little history, a little culture. Note: the official name of the office is Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe's Global Operations Plant. A little ominous, no? UPDATE: A reader pointed out I've got the name wrong. Official name is Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe's Global Operations Center. Less ominous. Dang.
Actually, it is called the Global Operations Center, not "Plant;" check out the Orrick Web site before reporting. Also, this video is offensive to those of us who work and live in Wheeling. The reporter was very rude and sensationalized what she captured to make it look bleaker and more stereotypical than it really is. And, at least we have jobs!

Ann,
You're right that the official name on the site is the Global Operations Center: http://www.orrick.com/offices/goc/. I think you're also right to feel good about still having a job in this economy. Thanks for your feedback.
