It looks like the conventional wisdom is correct and the weak economy isn’t hurting law school applications after all.
A while back I mentioned some statistics showing that law school applications were down this year. Others were surprised, but not I. Instead of incurring thousands of dollars in debt to avoid the recession, I advised folks to “drop everything, curl up into the fetal position, hold your breath, and wait for it to be over.”
Apparently, the 0Ls of the world weren’t listening to me, because, according to Legal Writing Prof Blog, LSAC is repporting that as of February 27, 2009, law school applications are up 4.3% at private schools and 2.4% at public schools this year.
