So let me get this straight - the 1Ls at King Hall had an opportunity to elect a representative with real, relevant experience, and chose instead to elect two resume padders?

Don't worry about her, she has just been elected event planner for the IP group on campus. I believe she ran unopposed.

The "charges" were not "dismissed." It was a civil suit; there were no charges to dismiss. Rather, her aide accepted a settlement of $50,000 or $118,000, depending on which news source you believe.

Cynthia

Thanks for the heads up, Chimp. I've made the correction.

1L

Tough broad? "broad" has some very negative connotations nowadays.
High LSAT? hardly makes any candidate worth endorsing
Nasty article regarding King Hall students in a local newspaper? Sore lose.

noah

one word to explain her loss: "gunner." cohn is clearly a gunner and gunners never win elections at law school -- they are the most hated students of all.

King Hall 1L

The poster above was absolutely correct. Definitely a gunner, especially when it came to the election and she put her campaign material everywhere.

Moreso than that though, she lost my vote because she never comes out to the social events and never does anything with the school outside of a few clubs (of which i'm not a member). Considering that LSA is mostly about organizing fun events, I really didn't think she was qualified.

happy 3L

Noah- in regards to LSA being about organizing events....you are kinda lost. LSA is the representative wing of King Hall. Your class had the opportunity to elect someone who has contacts with people throughout the state. She probably could have brought a lot to the 1L class. You guys chose to act like high school kids and got Sarah Palin and John McCain instead. good luck, but you guys could've had more connections. Oh...and good luck to you guys when you can't find a job, b/c king hall 2011 graduating class already has the stigma of being a douchebag gunner class. ask your profs. 2L's and 3L's...you guys didn't even drink all the beer at the incoming picnic....

" b/c king hall 2011 graduating class already has the stigma of being a douchebag gunner class. "

what a horrible tasteless statement. and thanks for factoring beer drinking into character judgment- that kind of thinking leads to people like bush.

Not 1L

"what a horrible tasteless statement. and thanks for factoring beer drinking into character judgment- that kind of thinking leads to people like bush."

That statement is just silly. While beer drinking may not indicate a douchebag, your statement does the job just fine.

3L

Though drinking beer isn't a requirement for character judgment... the fact that some idiot from the 1L class took some high school style election drama TO THE PRESS is reflective of the character of this class. The fact that the person with the most potential job connections wasn't voted to represent her class also shows that the 1Ls of King Hall are the ugly ducklings of this school. Unlike in the story, however, we haven't seen any signs of them turning into swans any time soon. There is one clique of girls in particular who are the most unprofessional conniving little bitches that have ever passed through our halls. I for one hope that the 1L class gets a reality check when they realize that most of getting a legal job is about networking. Yeah networking. Not grades. And guess what? If you're the person no one can trust, if you're the person doing the shit talking, if you're the person posting other people's lives on the internet, then you're also the petty asshole that firms won't hire.

It's chaos here. Strange and fast. Just trying to keep my head above the sea of people and smoke and lights and gold lame, sequined, shoulder-padded blazers (they still make those?!?!?), and tube tops stretched lengthwise to barely cover the...ahem...you know. I had no idea a woman could balance on a 6 inch point no bigger that a finger's width around!!
We found family. How sweet it is. So, so sweet.
