I just spent a few minutes checking out TaxProf Blog’s list of 2008 law school commencement speakers. Northwestern wins the Commencement Speaker Sweepstakes hands down with Jerry Springer. Others that caught my eye:
- Scott Turow is giving the commencement at Loyola-New Orleans (I guess John Grisham was busy).
- Attorney General Michael Mukasey will speak at Boston College’s commencement ceremony (Alberto Gonzales was definitely not busy).
- Hastings scores big with the always colorful Mayor Willie Brown.
- Dean “That’s-how-we-do-it-in-the-21st Century” Chemerinsky cranks out two commencements this year (USC and Chapman).
- I think we all know how much Penn Law paid for the services of Judas Iscariot himself.
- Finally, everybody’s favorite SCOTUS retiree, Sandra Day O’Connor, will speak at William & Mary’s commencement. For their sake, I hope she’s loosened up a little since her days on the Court.
