In a tongue-in-cheek nod to all the hubbub that's been surrounding former Bush legal adviser John Yoo's temporary teaching gig at Chapman University's School of Law, The Daily Chapman, a satirical blog about the university, wrote that Yoo's class is itself torture.
If you'll recall, Yoo, a visiting professor at the university, has been under a lot of fire lately for his role in memos that authorized torture, including memos released several weeks ago by the Obama administration that condoned the use of waterboarding and confinement in boxes.
Daily Chapman contributor Nico Monetti takes this premise and opens up a box, if you will, of clever parallels of sitting through a law school class and actual torture. Not much of a stretch.
Although the article is pretty interesting, I do have to draw the line at the writer's somewhat, um, racist depiction of Yoo's speech.
Seriously, people. We not all speak that way. We learned the English. Still, it's a rather entertaining read. Check it out here.
